Turn off unnecessary lights.
If you don’t need the light on, turn it off! Also, try to maximize on natural light by keeping your blinds open. Save money on light bulbs and your electricity bill for the year!
Be water smart.
2017 is the year of water savings! Try shorter showers, minimize baths, run full laundry loads, and try not to leave your faucets running when it really isn’t necessary. Tip: hot water is expensive so if possible try and minimize hot water use.
Stop the leaks.
Leaking faucets can lead to leaking money. Make sure you check your faucets for leaks and if you notice them, be sure to get it fixed as soon as you can.
Standby power can account for 10% of an average household’s annual electricity use. Unplug unused electronics and you can save $50 a year.
Reduce your machine dependence.
Try hanging your laundry to dry (where possible) and using alternative cooking methods to ovens and save on your electricity bill, big time!
