Happy Summer Solstice from Terra Property Management! Everyone is looking forward to enjoy the warm weather. There are 3 basic tips to prep your home for warm weather. Let us mention, those will save you time and money in the long run, too.
Give Your Air Conditioner a Checkup
Nobody wants to experience having an air conditioner break when summer is in full swing.
Check out your air conditioning system to ensure it’ll keep you cool. If needed, go ahead and call HVAC technician. The most of HVAC companies are fully booked at this part of year, so book your request as soon as you can. Having your unit tuned up annually can help extend its life and keep it running efficiently.
Get Summer Tools Ready
Lawn mowers and edgers are key to keeping your yard looking neat through the summer.
Make sure your equipment is ready to tackle these tasks with those tune-ups. Most likely, you will need to replace the oil and spark plugs, get all new oil, fuel and air filters. It is also a good idea to lubricate the moving parts and sharpen the mower blade. If you’re not comfortable doing either of these tune-ups yourself, you can have them handled by a professional.
Set Up a Barrier for Bugs
Summer weather seems to bring out the bugs. Now is a good time to get ready and make sure bugs will stay outside of your home.
Check the caulking around your windows and doors, then fix any drafts or gaps with new weather stripping and caulking. Keep in mind that insects gravitate to bad odors and messy areas. Keep your house clean, wash dishes on regular basis, take out the trash more often and pay special attention to food scraps.
